 📝 B2 Writing Exam Task: Article of My Best Day Outing

 

Instructions: You are going to write an article for your school magazine about your best day outing.

 

In your article, you should:

  • Describe where you went and who you were with.
  • Explain what made that day special or unforgettable.
  • Reflect on how you felt during the outing and what you learned from the experience.

 


Write between 140 and 190 words.

 

Your article should include:

  • An interesting title
  • An introduction that attracts readers
  • Two or three paragraphs developing your ideas
  • A conclusion expressing your personal reflection

 Maximum score: 20 points (5 criteria × 4 points)

2. Organization & Cohesion

Clear structure with logical paragraphing and smooth connectors.

Well-organized with some minor issues in flow.

Some organization; ideas sometimes disconnected.

Lacks structure; ideas difficult to follow.

3. Language Range & Accuracy

Wide range of vocabulary and grammar; very few minor errors.

Good control; some errors but meaning clear.

Limited range; noticeable repetition or errors.

Frequent mistakes affecting understanding.

4. Style & Communicative Effect

Natural, engaging tone suitable for an article; strong sense of audience.

Appropriate tone and register with occasional lapses.

5. Mechanics (Spelling, Punctuation, Word Count)
